A Lookback at April

As a decentralized team (Toronto, Miami, Seattle, Bangalore and counting!), it’s important to get together in person every few months to review strategy, brainstorm ideas, and most importantly, make sure all teams are aligned toward a single goal. Being in the same room makes a massive difference. Combining that with BTC Miami this year allowed us to get all that done, as well as meet and strategize with some of our vendors and partners, making it a hugely productive week for Cirus. We even got some of it on camera, so here’s a quick recap video:

We even had time for the odd interview:

In the background, Halborn is continuing their penetration testing and security audits. The good news is it’s all still proceeding relatively smoothly, with no show-stoppers, i.e. we haven’t had to push the big red button. This process will continue rolling into areas like our cloud server architecture, and other products as they pass development milestones. Organization-wide security auditing and training is also underway, with the entire team getting a comprehensive general, and crypto- specific security course from the best in the business.

On that note….

Public Service Announcement: We’ve been made aware that scammers are upping their game a bit, with more sophisticated schemes appearing more frequently. So, saying it a bit louder for the people in the back:

CIRUS AND CIRUS TEAM MEMBERS WILL NEVER GIVE AWAY TOKENS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. ALL OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS WILL APPEAR ON OUR OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT CHANNELS, MEDIUM, THE SCOOP ETC. VERIFY ALL INFORMATION THERE FIRST… AND IF IN DOUBT REACH OUT!

Now that we’re past that…More partnerships are in the pipeline, to be announced when relevant. Some are critical infrastructure partnerships, forming the underlying sub-structure for products like the Cirus Wallet, and others are exploratory agreements for playing with unique technologies and seeing how they can be integrated.

We are now rolling toward the end of a very successful Beta program of the Cirus Browser Extension. We’ve had about 25,000 downloads across different platforms, and gotten an enormous amount of feedback from the community. The response has really been amazing and we’ve learned a ton so far.

There have been iterative improvements made since the initial launch to correct some bigger bugs and make small tweaks, but so far we’ve held off on making any dramatic changes. Process-wise it would be more efficient for us to lump the big changes together.

So, it’s time to do that. We’re now pleased to announce that internally, the push is on to step out of Beta, and release the complete product with wallet integration and complete UI revamp. The idea is to integrate the fully cleaned up code, and all of the best feedback we received (internally and externally) on UI, with the functional wallet and all of the initial integrations that entails. This will be a clean, so-simple-your-aunt-can-figure-it-out wallet that pays you (because you own your data now, remember?).

We tend to shy away from publicising release dates, but we have a target date in mind and will announce it once a few key pieces are firmly locked in place. We’re extremely excited about this, and can’t wait to show you what’s coming!

In case you missed them, here are some of the other happenings for the month of April:
